The first console I remember having was the PlayStation 1. I was constantly on that thing. When parents got it for my brother and I, it originally came with the Disney Hercules game, and I was hooked.Shortly after, we got Crash Bandicoot and Rayman and my gaming obsession began. I even took my PlayStation with me on holiday's, absolutely refusing to leave it behind.
My favourite gaming story to tell, by far, is the one concerning Tomb Raider II. It's the game that took me the longest to beat. My cousin, Isabel and I started playing it when I was 7 years old, by the time we finished it, I was 12. Took us 5 years. We saw each other a few times per year, whenever we'd meet up, we would either play my game (Tomb Raider II) or her game (Tomb Raider). We'd play it alone, of course. But, the most progress was always made when we did it together as a team. We used to say that I was the courage and she was the brains. We were very young when we played it, there were a lot of jump scares, horror elements, and difficult enemies. As well as mind boggling puzzles, history elements, and mythologies. If we would play alone, and I'd get stuck on a puzzle, I'd wait for the next time Izzy came over for us to get past it and continue. If she were to get stuck on a level that she thought was scary or involved terrifying monsters, she'd wait for me to do that part. Isabel did the puzzles, I dealt with the creep factor. And that is how it took us 5 years to complete Tomb Raider II. Shortly after completing it, I accidentally factory reset the PlayStation memory card and cried for days.
